Bordeaux
4 bottles(s) of Vieux Chateau St. Andree 2017 Vieux Chateau St. Andre for $35.99 per bottle (SKU2986) This is a much more accessible version from the same guy who brings you Samion, in that it can be drunk now. It is not an easy drinking wine by any means but just because of where it comes from, it is ready to go with a 30 minute decant right out of the gate.
11 bottles(s) of Chateau Bouillerot 2019 Cep DAntan for $24.99 per bottle (SKU3929) Old school, classic Bordeaux. Elite Bistro wine is the style here. The ultimate Tuesday night wine.
16 bottles(s) of Chateau Bouillerot 2018 Essentia for $22.99 per bottle (SKU3930) The middle cuvee here and the same goes. Elte Bistro wine.
4 bottles(s) of Chateau Le Reysse 2018 La Reysse for $24.99 per bottle (SKU4470) This is the best La Reysse since the 2014 and Stefan says it is one of the the best La Reysse ever. Only time will tell. Please pay attention La Reysse lovers as this is the vintage to go long.
12 bottles(s) of Chateau des Gravieres 2018 Chateau des Gravieres for $36.99 per bottle (SKU4856) The wines are simply put, awesome. This small allocation fell into my lap after asking 10 times. Maybe they wanted to get rid of me! Whatever. It worked.
Rhone
17 bottles(s) of Maison Alexandrins 2018 Cornas for $57.99 per bottle (SKU3451) Such a sleeper Cornas. So rich and granite driven. Always better on day 2.
2 bottles(s) of Patrick Jasmin 2018 Cote Rotie La Giroflaire for $74.99 per bottle (SKU3509) Needs 10 years but then it gets going. Unreal finesse and depth. One of the most classic Cote Roties
3 bottles(s) of Domaine St. Gayan 2015 Gigondas In Nominae Patris for $43.99 per bottle (SKU3741)
1 bottles(s) of Christophe Billon 2018 Cote Rotie La Brocarde for $84.99 per bottle (SKU3940) Also with 3% Viognier, the 2018 Côte Rôtie La Brocarde comes from the La Brocarde lieu-dit, which is located in the northern Côte Brune side of the appellation. Its deep purple hue gives way to a rocking Côte Rôtie that has tons of deep blue and black fruits, graphite, crushed rocks, and charred meat-like aromas and flavors. Rich, powerful, and concentrated, its a bruiser of a Côte Rôtie with fine
1 bottles(s) of Hector Adrien Charalambos Lelektsoglou 2019 Cote Rotie for $75.99 per bottle (SKU4075)
5 bottles(s) of Gilles Barge 2019 Cote Rotie Couer de Combard for $105.99 per bottle (SKU4360) (6-year 600-litre cask) dark red robe; the aroma is enclosed, with licorice, firm red cherry, blackcurrant, has hardly emerged. The palate debut is stylish on its texture, with suave, firmly established gras, keeps going with a defined freshness, keenness. This is classy, has a refined structure is cool and authentic with a little musky roundness on the close, the coolness leading well into that,
3 bottles(s) of Domaine des Pierres Seches 2019 Saint Joseph Rouge Cuvee 1930 for $61.99 per bottle (SKU4409) As the name suggests these are from vines planted in 1930 and are the oldest vines of the estate and in 2019 the fruit was so good that Sylvain decided to separate them out into a special cuvee. Now in 2020 we have the 2nd vintage. Just a stunning wine of epic genius
1 bottles(s) of Domaine des Pierres Seches 2018 Saint Joseph Rouge Aubert for $42.99 per bottle (SKU4410) This used to be called the St. Epine and is absolutely mindboggling in 2018. This is from craggy cliffs of St. Epine and has to be one of the best mid range St. Joseph wines that mimics a high end St. Joseph.
3 bottles(s) of Julien Barge 2020 St. Joseph Clos Martinet / Ribaudy for $39.99 per bottle (SKU4509) This is a charmer and a wine of tremendous fruit and character but not over polished like some Rhone wines are today. Such a different more Côte-Rotie style than the classic Mauves, Tournon, Epine styles.
3 bottles(s) of Christophe Billon 2019 Cote Rotie Les Rozier for $67.99 per bottle (SKU4583) The 2019 Côte Rôtie Côte Rozier is also concentrated and rich, yet it has a more lifted, elegant, fresher style in its plum and flowery, peppery incense aromatics, medium to full body, building tannins, and great finish. It doesnt have the sheer wealth of fruit to buffer its structure like the La Brocarde and needs at least 4-5 years in the cellar to round into form. Its impressive, nevertheless.
2 bottles(s) of Compagnie de lHermitage 2018 Cote Rotie Lieu Dit La Brocarde for $129.99 per bottle (SKU4615) La Brocarde is an amazing site and these are very old vines from the best parcel in Georges opinion. George knows his stuff and has tasted, walked these vineyards for decades. It is extraordinary and profound Côte Rotie of the highest degree but man does this wine need time
2 bottles(s) of Maison Alexandrins 2019 Cornas for $57.99 per bottle (SKU4644) This is as good if a bit richer than the great Hermitage they make. Its in the same style we all know and love at Alexandrins. This comes from a small parcel called Les Eygas where Remy Nodin has young vines and also Jeb dropped a hundred on the version from Domaine Courbis in 2015
2 bottles(s) of Luyton 2020 Hermitage Rouge Allegresse for $59.99 per bottle (SKU4744) The style is incredible – powerful and elegant. Burgundian and refined. Textured, soft and structured wines. She is making better wines now than ever. This is the best value in high end Hermitage yet its priced like mid tier Cornas.
1 bottles(s) of Domaine St. Gayan 2017 Gigondas In Nominae Patris for $44.99 per bottle (SKU4858) This is a steal for a wine this great. Its utterly mind blowing. It has all that I loved in the Gigondas of my salad days.
2 bottles(s) of Domaine Richaud 2020 Cotes du Rhone Villages Lebresacade VV for $41.99 per bottle (SKU4927) Richaud makes lovely everyday Cairanne cuvees but when you get to lEbrescade and the newish cuvee Estrambords (debuted in 2011) the up-tick in quality is as big at any winery I have ever experienced. The relatively small price bump does not match the significant up-tick in quality.
4 bottles(s) of Domaine de la Cote St Epine 2018 St Joseph Rouge Vieilles Vignes Cuvee Reserve for $35.99 per bottle (SKU4986) I am grouping the together as 18/19 are such similar vintages and the only differences are that 19 is skoche more accessible than the 18. 18 has more minerality and tannin and 19 is more opulent and is like a supercharged 17.
3 bottles(s) of Maison Alexandrins 2020 Cote Rotie for $74.99 per bottle (SKU5007) Does Alexandrins miss? Not yet. This is a tremendous bottle of Cote Rotie. Not as big as the 2019 but man this is an incredible wine in its own right. The tiny berry fruit complexity is off the charts as is the stunning purity. The wood use of Alexandrins is brilliant and he is like a great chef using salt.
2 bottles(s) of Maison Alexandrins 2021 Cornas for $53.99 per bottle (SKU5008) That is an insane QPR. This is as good if a bit richer than the great Hermitage they make. Its in the same style we all know and love at Alexandrins. This comes from a small parcel called Les Eygas where Remy Nodin has young vines and also Jeb dropped a hundred on the version from Domaine Courbis in 2015.
1 bottles(s) of Domaine des Breseyme 2019 Cotes du Rhone Brezeme Rouge for $35.99 per bottle (SKU5022) Its like a baby Hermitage. There is a geological connection between the soils of Hermitage and Brezeme. Clay and granite. The Brezeme appellation started with seleccion Massale vines from Hermitage. This is not similar to Côte Rotie or St. Joseph. This is in the polished traditional style. Like Alexandrins/ Bourg/ Pierres Seches.
3 bottles(s) of Patrick Jasmin 2017 Cote Rotie Olea for $82.99 per bottle (SKU5051) Its one thing to do this with Burgundy which is, by its nature, generally a lighter and less extracted wine. Its quote another to do it in the Rhone. The Olea has everything that you could want in a Northern Rhone Syrah. The dark but softly elegant fruit. The granite. The spice.
1 bottles(s) of Domaine de Fauterie 2019 St. Joseph Combaud for $53.99 per bottle (SKU5082) This has the potential to be one of wines of the vintage in 10 years. The fruit is front and center now but after 10 years in the cellar it will compete blind with the some of best Cornas of the vintage.
Italy
15 bottles(s) of Gillardi 2015 Barolo for $54.99 per bottle (SKU3565) This wine has the density from the hot year but none of the dark fruit. As I noted its a classic, classic old school Barolo. A throwback. And a beautiful throwback.
5 bottles(s) of Podere ai Valloni 2012 Boca Vigna Cristiana for $44.99 per bottle (SKU3583) The nose is very intense roses combined with stunning cherries, minerals and cooling blue fruits. The palate has awesome ripeness and the most elegant and refined tannins. The Valloni Bocas manage to have an amazing balance of ripe fruit and ripe tannins.
2 bottles(s) of Podere ai Valloni 2018 Colline Novaresi Nebbiolo Gratus for $24.99 per bottle (SKU3584) The 2017 Gratus, 85% Nebbiolo and 15% Vespolina, is another compelling wine in this range. Ample and powerful, with tons of breadth, Gratus has so much to offer. The 2017 is resonant on the palate yet retains a very classic sense of translucence. White pepper, cinnamon and bright acids give the wine lovely energy to play off the natural intensity of the year. Delicious. Good structure. – 93 PTS, V
8 bottles(s) of Cecllia Monte 2017 Langhe Nebbiolo Ca di Monti for $24.99 per bottle (SKU3672) The Langhe Nebbiolo is, for some reason, more advanced in its evolution than the Barbaresco and I think gives a future look at what the Barbarescos will be in a few years.
4 bottles(s) of Sergio Barbaglia 2017 Colline Novaresi Croatina for $19.99 per bottle (SKU4050) With a nice big pork roast or an ossubucco, this is what to choose. The age is great as it seemed to harmonize all the parts to it. Its really something and a tremendous wine. It has ripe and juicy tannins and if one has to compare it to anything please let it be traditional old school Dolcetto from Dogliani from the standpoint of pure enjoyment.
15 bottles(s) of Olivero Mario 2017 Barolo Bricco Ambrogio for $49.99 per bottle (SKU4385)
12 bottles(s) of Olivero Mario 2017 Barolo Vigna Unite for $39.99 per bottle (SKU4386)
1 bottles(s) of Vinding Montecarrubo 2020 Cuvee Speciale for $30.99 per bottle (SKU4419) This is one of those wines that you have to try if you like Syrah. It is very different from the other top Syrahs in the world (the Rhone and Ziereisenss Syrah from Baden) and one of the top 2-3 Syrahs Ive had from Italy.
21 bottles(s) of Vinding Montecarrubo 2020 Cuvee Rudolf for $40.99 per bottle (SKU4420) This is 100% Syrah. FYI I had this on day 5 and this was still incredible. The balance here is incredible. Its a masterclass in winemaking.
30 bottles(s) of Lunarossa 2016 Borgomaestro for $32.99 per bottle (SKU4427) The 2016 Aglianico Borgomastro grumbles up from the glass, slowly revealing a classic display of blackberries and plums laced with hints of animal musk, ashen stone and dried roses. This is a lifted and feminine expression, showing remarkable purity, as a silken wave of ripe red and black fruits washes across the palate with grace. Enlivening acidity and salty minerals create a push and pull of sa
5 bottles(s) of ColleMassari 2017 Montecucco Riserva for $22.99 per bottle (SKU4448) Dark and seductive, the 2017 Rosso Riserva Montecucco lulls you in with a bouquet that blends dusty black cherries and red currants with sweet mint leaf and hints of clove. There are depths of soft, fleshy textures within, balanced by brisk acids, masses of tart blackberry fruit and balsam herbal tones. This reverberates with youthful tension, leaving a saturation of primary concentration upon the
20 bottles(s) of Vinding Montecarrubo 2020 Cuvee Suzanne for $44.99 per bottle (SKU4486) This wine is named for Peters wife of 50 years, Suzanne. This wine is somehow almost more Cote Rotie than present day Cote Rotie.
7 bottles(s) of Cadia 2015 Barolo Monvigliero Riserva for $74.99 per bottle (SKU4797) This is a Barolo that is a fantastic calling card for what the best 2015 Monviglieros are all about. This is elite A+ terroir. Its the Chambolle of Barolo.
4 bottles(s) of Josetta Saffirio 2018 Barolo Perseira for $57.99 per bottle (SKU4825) Tasting this wine with no knowledge of the price or site I said in my head this is a $90+ bottle of Barolo. At $60 this is an insane wine and one of my my favorite 2018 Baroli Ive had
3 bottles(s) of Josetta Saffirio 2020 Barbera dAlba Superiore for $23.99 per bottle (SKU4826)
23 bottles(s) of Arpepe 2017 Sasella Valtellina Superiore Stella Retica for $42.99 per bottle (SKU4879) The 2017 may be the most distinctive version weve yet sold of this wine. Its basically an elegance bomb. Take Audrey Hepburn, a group of harps, some Hermes scarves and Bachs Branderburg Concerto, wrap them all up and thats what you get with this wine.
1 bottles(s) of Rivera 2016 Nero di Troia Castel del Monte Riserva Puer Apuliae for $31.99 per bottle (SKU4888) The wine has the structure of classified Bordeaux and also has the finesse of great Burgundy or Sangiovese. There is zero rusticity here and yet it is a complete wine of terroir. It shows the climate and terroir of Puglia masterfully. Its a singular wine of incredible distinction.
3 bottles(s) of Pier Paolo Grasso 2009 Barbaresco Rio Sordo for $45.99 per bottle (SKU4891) Single vineyard, aged Barbaresco from a vintage that is really starting to drink well today. And my goodness was this wine a revelation.
3 bottles(s) of Cesare Bussolo 2019 Barbera d Alba Roscaleto for $109.99 per bottle (SKU4898) This wine is Barbera in its highest most elite form. It can age and needs age as it was much better on day 2. The Roscaleto is a freak show and unlike any wine we sell. It is so decadent, juicy and complex you could drink this at a party Caligula would throw. Its that type of wine. Its beyond amazing.
23 bottles(s) of Duemani 2019 Altro Vino for $37.99 per bottle (SKU4899) Tasted as an unfinished wine, the 2019 Merlot Cabernet Franc Altrovino is a blend that is assembled immediately after the harvest and fermented in cement and terracotta. Future vintages will probably see more terracotta, as winemaker Luca DAttoma is moving in this direction, especially as this material will give the wine an edge when it comes to aging, he says. The bouquet delivers some minty tone
3 bottles(s) of Gillardi 2019 Dolcetto di Dogliani Cursalet for $21.99 per bottle (SKU4910) Elena sent me the 18 and 19 and the 19 was clearly the better wine. More clarity and cut. Also the flavors were more pre ice and the structure was more fine and noble. Make no mistake this is the best Dolcetto value Ive ever tasted.
7 bottles(s) of Arpepe 2017 Valtellina Superiore Il Pettirosso for $38.99 per bottle (SKU4925) In 2017 this wine is so lights out it has to be tasted. It is equal to the 16 but very different. Its just insane. It has an incredible color. Perfect opacity.
4 bottles(s) of Cella Grande 2018 Carema for $47.99 per bottle (SKU4944) This is an absolute baby but wow when this arrives its going to shake things up. This is Carema but a totally different style from any other winemaker.
1 bottles(s) of Gillardi 2018 Barolo del Comune di La Morra for $58.99 per bottle (SKU4956) Elena destroyed 2018 and left achingly beautiful Nebbiolo in her wake. What a wine. Such clarity and definition. Look at that color. Like 1950s Barolo.
1 bottles(s) of Gillardi 2016 Barolo Vignane for $69.99 per bottle (SKU4957) As we know 2016 was a fantastic vintage in Barolo with some of the most glorious, deep, vivid fruit I have ever tasted in young Baroli. Many consider it alongside 2010 as the best vintage of the past 20 years. Many of the 2016s have been brooding and darker fruited.
2 bottles(s) of Arpepe 2017 Grumello Rocca de Piro for $43.99 per bottle (SKU4966) There is a Chambolle/Volnay-ishness to these wines that is to die for. It seems like almost a next step evolution of Nebbiolo. They are lighter than Langhe Nebbiolo but there is an intensity with balance thing and the purest Nebbiolo fruit you will ever taste. My god the fruit on these wines, once they have properly breathed, is just something to behold.
2 bottles(s) of Montepepe 2012 Rosso Riserva Speciale for $29.99 per bottle (SKU5018) This is another profoundly well made Italian Syrah blended with a grape called Masserata and is on the same level as the wines from Peter Vinding Diers. Here you are getting a 10 year old wine direct from the cellar.
1 bottles(s) of Sara Vezza 2018 Barolo Ravera for $57.99 per bottle (SKU5043) The style is that super haunting elegant style of Barolo that calls to Chambolle as much as Barolo Mascarello does. It has the style of such clear refinement and finesse with just the most intoxicating aromas you can imagine.
4 bottles(s) of San Lorenzo 2017 Brunello di Montalcino for $38.99 per bottle (SKU5071) This is an absolutely knockout genius bottle of Brunello that should cost double what I am charging. Every now and then I go out into the world and am blown away how expensive wine is. And dont get me started how cheap it is in Europe.
Germany
6 bottles(s) of Max Getlinger Wein 2018 Spatburgunder for $33.99 per bottle (SKU3749) The wine is as nimble as a Chambolle but is such essential Red Riesling its not even funny. In 2018 it is by far the most fruit-driven version yet.
6 bottles(s) of Max Getlinger Wein 2017 Rotwild for $34.99 per bottle (SKU3920) This is 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Regent. Palate is insanely juicy, pure and clean. Thunderous freshness and wow that purity. The palate is so bright and has insane lift to it plus just superb balance. What a wine. So so stunning. Ripe, velvety and substantial tannins and terrific length. This is truly great.
1 bottles(s) of Thorle 2018 Saulheim Spatburgunder Kalkstein for $24.99 per bottle (SKU4067) What a ravishing (black and sour) cherry nose and a seductive texture this concentrated pinot noir has. The oak is already almost perfectly integrated. Super interplay of velvety tannins and mineral acidity at the long finish. Drink or hold. – 94 Points, Stuart Piggot
2 bottles(s) of Marbleous 2018 Spatburgunder for $24.99 per bottle (SKU4300) Nose is just next level. All terroir. Gorgeous sappy pine, tree bark, slate, some sappy sour cherries. Intoxicating. Palate is stunning. Fresh and transparent with gorgeous sappy sour and mid season cherry fruit, glorious spice and such purity. Clean as a whistle while having a serious sense of transparency. Juicy.
3 bottles(s) of Weingut Josef Walter 2017 Spatburgunder J Hundstruck for $51.99 per bottle (SKU4793)
3 bottles(s) of Max Getlinger Wein 2018 Rotwild for $23.99 per bottle (SKU4804) This is 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Regent. Palate is insanely juicy, pure and clean. Thunderous freshness and wow that purity. The palate is so bright and has insane lift to it plus just superb balance. What a wine. So so stunning. Ripe, velvety and substantial tannins and terrific length. This is truly great. Plum. Dark berries.
2 bottles(s) of Weingut Achim Durr 2018 Pinot Noir Vom Keuper for $43.99 per bottle (SKU5050) This is Achims Koepfle (Koepfle is Mobitzs best and rarest wine!) per se. It is a Vosne-Romanee style wine.
Beaujolais
2 bottles(s) of Alex Foillard 2019 Cote de Brouilly for $47.99 per bottle (SKU3849) Alex is the son of the great Jean Foillard, who perhaps is the most famous member of the Gang of Four. Alex makes a ridiculously small amount of wine in the exact same style of his father whose wines have made wine lovers swoon for decades.
4 bottles(s) of Alex Foillard 2019 Brouilly for $47.99 per bottle (SKU3850) Alex is the son of the great Jean Foillard, who perhaps is the most famous member of the Gang of Four. Alex makes a ridiculously small amount of wine in the exact same style of his father whose wines have made wine lovers swoon for decades.
9 bottles(s) of Domaine du Vissoux 2020 Fleurie Garants for $27.99 per bottle (SKU4081)
1 bottles(s) of Chateau Bachelards-Comtesse Vazeilles 2018 Fleurie Les Clos for $119.99 per bottle (SKU4093)
5 bottles(s) of Chateau Bachelards-Comtesse Vazeilles 2018 Fleurie for $57.99 per bottle (SKU4094) Welcome to the delightful deep end of contemporary Beaujolais! Stunning nose of summer flowers, very fine red and black fruit with the merest hint of spice. This is simultaneously so deep and delicate, the serious concentration married to wonderful coolness. Really fine tannins make the long finish feel like old-fashioned velvet. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold. – 96 Points, Stuart
17 bottles(s) of Raphael Chopin 2019 Morgon Les Charmes for $29.99 per bottle (SKU4334) Wonderful Morgon that is expressive, ebullient and full of light but intense black cherry fruit. Rich and perfumed. Very succulent.
20 bottles(s) of Raphael Chopin 2019 Regnie Les Braves for $34.99 per bottle (SKU4335) Very elegant Regnie bursting with fruit and planted on the special pink granite that is unique to this area of Regnie.
11 bottles(s) of Domaine du Vissoux 2020 Moulin A Vent Trois Roches for $25.99 per bottle (SKU4373) Opening in the glass with notes of sweet wild berries, petals, warm spices and loamy soil, the 2020 Moulin-à-Vent Les Trois Roches is medium to full-bodied, lively and nicely concentrated, with powdery tannins and a mouthwatering finish. 93 PTS Wine Advocate, William Kelley
5 bottles(s) of Domaine des Marrans 2019 Fleurie Lieu Dit Champagne for $29.99 per bottle (SKU4388) This is the best parcel of what goes into Clos du Pavillon, which was what I thought was their top cuvee. It provides the tannic structure and backbone of the Pavillon. They decided it was so amazing it had to be bottled on its own
4 bottles(s) of Chateau Bachelards-Comtesse Vazeilles 2018 Fleurie Les Clos for $99.99 per bottle (SKU4729) This gives you all the freshness you expect from a Beaujolais Cru, combined with staggering depth. Very flinty nose, but there’s also extremely fine forest-berry character. However, this barely prepares you for the enormous concentration and brilliance on the palate. The most extraordinary thing is the intense mineral imprint that remains, after you think the wine has left your mouth. From biodyna
4 bottles(s) of Alex Foillard 2020 Cote de Brouilly for $39.99 per bottle (SKU4764) Light, vivid ruby. Vibrant red fruit, floral and spice qualities on the mineral-inflected nose take on suggestions of incense and licorice as the wine stretches out. Sappy, incisive and pure, offering palate-staining raspberry, bitter cherry, floral pastille and rhubarb flavors that show a compelling blend of depth and vivacity. Closes very long and subtly chewy, with reverberating florality and p
2 bottles(s) of Alex Foillard 2020 Brouilly for $39.99 per bottle (SKU4765) Glistening ruby. Primary red and blue fruits and succulent flowers on the mineral- and spice-accented nose. Bright, spicy and energetic on the palate, offering juicy raspberry, boysenberry and spicecake flavors that show fine clarity and deepen slowly with air. Delivers seamless texture and bright, minerally cut on the gently tannic finish, which displays strong tenacity and repeating floral and m
4 bottles(s) of Chateau Thivin 2021 Cote de Brouilly Cuvee Godefroy for $37.99 per bottle (SKU4842) This is the oldest parcel in the Domaine with the average vine age of 90-100 years. This wine has some of the oldest vine character of any wine Ive ever had

The average age of the vines is 80 years old. The youngest vines were planted in 1977 and nobody remembers when the oldest vines were planted. This wine is truly special.
Switzerland
9 bottles(s) of Weingut Riehen 2017 Le Grand Pinot Noir for $92.99 per bottle (SKU3878) This is the Swiss equivalent of the Jaspis Alte Reben and you all know how profound that wine is. This is as profound but its completely different. Like the difference between a Richebourg and a Corton Bressandes (if I had to pick two random Burgundy Grand Crus out of a hat). But if there was one village that this epic wine reminded me of it was Morey St. Denis and Clos de la Roche and/or Clos Vou
1 bottles(s) of Weingut Riehen 2018 Le Grand Pinot Noir for $87.99 per bottle (SKU4597) This is the Swiss equivalent of the Jaspis Alte Reben and you all know how profound that wine is. But this is better. After the 18s I’m convinced. This is the best Pinot HPZ has ever made and there’s some stiff competition
5 bottles(s) of Weingut Riehen 2018 Le Petit Rouge for $37.99 per bottle (SKU4781) I settled on 3 hours of air before it gets going and it really reminds me of a high class Gevrey with a twist. Its so juicy and has a really terrific finish. I think it has the structure for long term aging. Truly a great wine.
7 bottles(s) of Weggelin 2019 Weisstorkel Blauburgunder BIO for $44.99 per bottle (SKU4807) This is an absurd, absurd steal for $46. This would cost $140 in Burgundy and likely more. There is … a magnificence. A regality about it that really almost defies description.
9 bottles(s) of Mohr-Niggli 2021 Pinot Noir Maeinfeld for $33.99 per bottle (SKU4829)
3 bottles(s) of Gerard Besse 2019 Martigny Syrah Les Serpentines for $39.99 per bottle (SKU4889) The 2019 Martigny Syrah Les Serpentines shows a dark cherry color and opens with a deep, intense, perfectly ripe and concentrated yet refined, fresh and aromatic bouquet of black berries and elderberries along with finely stony and floral notes—a great mix of purity, depth and concentration. Soft and refined on the delicate and silky-textured palate, this is a very elegant and finely concentrated
4 bottles(s) of Mohr-Niggli 2020 Clos Martha Pinot Noir for $51.99 per bottle (SKU4951) The Clos Martha bottling from the Sunnebärg parcel is named after Matthias grandmother. So basically this is Mohr-Nigglis Muschelkalk. This site is slightly warmer (barely slightly warmer) than the Graf and I didnt notice any difference. Both seemed like cool climate Pinot Noirs to me.
1 bottles(s) of Mohr-Niggli 2020 Graf Pinot Noir for $51.99 per bottle (SKU4952) The signature of the Graf parcels are super concentrated fruit and a fascinating grainy texture. The wine is also characterized by a profound elegance and delicacy. Simply put this is a transcendent Swiss Pinot.
1 bottles(s) of Pircher 2019 Pinot Noir Statdberg for $44.99 per bottle (SKU5016) Because this is priced like Cru Bourgogne and drinks like very good village wine. Its a crazy steal because its in Zurich and Gianmarco has not yet been discovered by the Swiss public. These are 60 year old parcels. For $45 a bottle. And 2019 was a vintage for the ages in Switzerland.
3 bottles(s) of Weingut Riehen 2019 Le Grand Pinot Noir for $79.99 per bottle (SKU5083) This is the Swiss equivalent of the Jaspis Alte Reben and you all know how profound that wine is. This is as profound but its completely different. Like the difference between a Richebourg and a Corton Bressandes (if I had to pick two random Burgundy Grand Crus out of a hat).
USA
4 bottles(s) of Martin Woods 2018 Gamay Noir for $28.99 per bottle (SKU3924) The headline is, If Hanspeter Ziereisen made Gamay in the great old vine Godefroy vineyard of Chateau Thivin. Thats what it reminds me of. Yup. This wine is as serious and joyful a Gamay Ive ever sold.
6 bottles(s) of Martin Woods 2019 Gamay Noir for $35.99 per bottle (SKU4452) Even better than the miraculous 2018. Deep, aromatic, strucured and very serious Gamay. Reminds me of Cote de Brouilly.
3 bottles(s) of Martin Woods 2019 Pinot Noir Bednarik Vineyard for $45.99 per bottle (SKU4757) Its an organically dry farmed vineyard with naturally occurring low yields. The wines from Bednarik are always super aromatic. Really low sulfur in this wine as well. Under 70ppm. The wines have a vibrant energy to them that is what sets Bednarik apart.

5 bottles(s) of Domaine Brana 2014 Irouleguy Rouge for $51.99 per bottle (SKU4326) Sometimes you can assess a vintage of Brana by seeing what happened in Bordeaux but sometimes, like in 2014, Bordeaux can be a wash and SW France can slay. In 2014 SW France slayed and 14 Brana is killer but one for the cellar I think the 2014 is an incredible young Brana
1 bottles(s) of Familie Jouffreau Clos de Gamot 2019 Cahors for $28.99 per bottle (SKU4467) This is the best young vintage of Clos de Gamot since the 2010 and then since the 2005 and will be a legend just like 2000 in due time. The fruit on this wine is on fleek and just absurd
4 bottles(s) of Familie Jouffreau Clos de Gamot 2008 Cahors for $57.99 per bottle (SKU4731) The Cascina Francia of Cahors. Gorgeous nose, bitter sweet cocoa, dark berry fruit, leather, smoke, palate is youthful, invigorating and ripe. Juicy and complex with terrific stony minerality. Gorgeous mouthfeel. Great freshness. Big tannins but ripe and deep. Has decades ahead of it. – Lyle Fass, 2008 Vintage
Burgundy
11 bottles(s) of Laurent Boussey 2017 Beaune Les Prevoles for $27.99 per bottle (SKU4553) If I had an award for the most honest wine Ive ever offered this would be up there. It is directly under the great 1er Cru, Tuvilains that former Fass Selections superstar Herve Murat made a few vintages of for us. This wine is just incredible.
4 bottles(s) of Chavy-Chouet 2020 Bourgogne Rouge La Taupe for $24.99 per bottle (SKU4587) This is brilliant in 2020 and it is so good this will be the second vintage I offer as it is full of fruit and character. The fruit on this wine is so ridiculous. This wine is an outrageous value in 2020, with massive generous levels of fruit but also depth and refinement.
9 bottles(s) of Michel Rebourgeon 2020 Pommard Noizons for $57.99 per bottle (SKU4767) This is next to the great 1er Crus Les Charmots and Pezerolles. Yields were only 20hl/ha and since the great La Vache is no longer (vines ripped up) the Les Noizons is the so called lieu dit tete de cuvee.
3 bottles(s) of Laurent Boussey 2020 Volnay AC for $36.99 per bottle (SKU4847) My god this wine is so good and you can drink it now. If I owned a restaurant Id buy 100 cases and pour by the glass. It has that drinkability factor that is irresistible. Its a stunning value.
4 bottles(s) of Francois Buffet 2020 Pernand Vergelesses 1er Cru Les Vergelesses for $41.99 per bottle (SKU4882)
2 bottles(s) of JJ Girard 2020 Corton Grand Cru Clos de Roi for $97.99 per bottle (SKU4883) A brooding and reserved nose grudgingly reveals its aromas of spice, floral and blend of both red and dark berries. Like the Chaponnières, the medium-bodied flavors are not super-dense, but they are elegant, refined and stony with good length on the slightly lean finale. Note that my rating is contingent upon this fleshing out with time in bottle, but it appears to have the necessary stuffing to d
3 bottles(s) of Julien Cruchandeau 2021 Hautes Cote de Nuits Rouge Les Cabottes for $24.99 per bottle (SKU4934) This can short term age for 3-5 years as well. Hard to keep hands off. As Julien says, It is more about fruit than tannin. Having said that it is fresh and crunchy and truly over-performs in a classic vintage like 2021 and provides. Insane value.
2 bottles(s) of Francois Buffet 2020 Pommard 1er Cru Les Poutures for $57.99 per bottle (SKU4940) The 2020 Pommard Poutures is very well defined on the nose with blackberry, briary, wild strawberry and touches of rose petal. The palate is very crisp and mineral-driven, darker fruit than the nose with blackberry and raspberry mixed with spices and white pepper on the finish. Great length.- 91-93 Points, Neal Martin, Vinous
6 bottles(s) of JJ Girard 2020 Savigny Les Beaune Rouge for $24.99 per bottle (SKU4960) Yields were under 30 hectoliters per hectare for this. It is priced like a Bourgogne Rouge used to be, as its hard, almost impossible now, to find Bourgogne Rouge for under $30. This is village wine for under $25 from one of the most dense and transparent vintages Ive tasted.
1 bottles(s) of Laurent Boussey 2020 Monthelie Rouge Hauts Brins for $26.99 per bottle (SKU4988) Wonderfully elegant. What a wine. Picks up a lovely velvety quality after extended air. This is an outrageous value. Can be drunk young but also will really improve from short term aging of 2-3 years. Just a remarkable bottle of wine.
23 bottles(s) of Domaine Jean-Marc and Hugues Pavelot 2018 Savigny Les Beaune 1er Cru La Dominode for $47.99 per bottle (SKU4990) A perfumed, ripe and cool nose features notes of red currant, black raspberry, violet and a hint of sandalwood. There is very fine mid-palate density with an abundance of sappy dry extract to the velvety and mouth coating flavors that flash good minerality on the powerful, balanced and hugely long finish. This is marvelous but its also a buy and forget you own it wine. – 91-94 Pts, Burghound
2 bottles(s) of Francois Buffet 2020 Pommard for $38.99 per bottle (SKU5001) I think this is the first time I have offered the 2020 Francois Buffet Pommard as it sells out in France every year as this is an insider wine in that its one of the best under the radar village Pommards.
3 bottles(s) of Vincent Ledy 2019 Chorey Les Beaune Les Beaumonts for $30.99 per bottle (SKU5026) Terrific vintage for by far the best Chorey in Burgundy. Most Chorey is forgettable in my opinion. Sorry Tollot-Beaut. Also Les Beaumonts is the best terroir in Chorey. The La Tache of Chorey-Les-Beaune.
4 bottles(s) of Vincent Ledy 2019 Nuits St Georges 1er Cru Clos des Porrets St Georges VV for $87.99 per bottle (SKU5040)
9 bottles(s) of Julien Cruchandeau 2021 Beaune Les Bons Feuvres for $31.99 per bottle (SKU5053) Regarding Beaune « Les Bons Feuvres » is juste near Pommard Limit. We find a little the style of the wines of Pommard by a beautiful tannic material but with a great Freshness more typical of the wines of the appellation Beaune. Regarding vinifacation 50% of full clusters that gives it a very air and fresh side. – Julien Cruchandeau
Savoie
5 bottles(s) of Domaine des Rutissons 2021 Etraire de la Huy for $29.99 per bottle (SKU4703) Its like if Côte de Brouilly/Crozes-Hermitage/Chambolle/Taurasi dropped acid and this is the wine they created.
Loire
3 bottles(s) of Clau du Nell 2018 Anjou Violette for $43.99 per bottle (SKU4770)
3 bottles(s) of Clos de Breuilly 2020 Saint Pourcain Rouge for $34.99 per bottle (SKU4861) This is a blend of Pinot Noir and Gamay. Its 20% whole cluster fermentation. Its aged in enameled steel vats. Blind you wont think there is one grape of Gamay in there as the color is deep. Almost like Rayas blended with a fresh young Pinot.
3 bottles(s) of Domaine des Roches Neuves 2021 Franc de Pied Saumur Champigny for $46.99 per bottle (SKU4973) The 2020 Franc de Pied is incredibly reductive when it was first opened and needed a lot of time and a swirl with a copper coin. If you can be patient (5 minutes with a penny in your glass, or your currencys equivalent), its worth the wait. It reveals itself to be a richly fruited, savory style that fills the mouth with a balloon of chalky silkiness. The limestone element really shows itself on th
8 bottles(s) of Domaine des Roches Neuves 2017 Les Memoires Saumur Champigny Rouge for $47.99 per bottle (SKU5028) This is the top cuvée for Cabernet Franc at Chez Germain. It is from 112 year old vines from a .8 hectare site. The soil is silex/limestone which gives this stunning wine its unique qualities. It is ultra distinctive. From a micro parcel that is less than two hectares that is planted with the aforementioned 112 old Cabernet Franc vines that are 50% Franc de Pied and 50% grafted.
23 bottles(s) of Domaine des Roches Neuves 2017 Clos de lEchelier Saumur Champigny Rouge for $38.99 per bottle (SKU5029) This is, and I hate to use the word, but it really applies here, Burgundian to the max. Even more reason to be swooped by bitter, priced out Burg drinkers. It is so elegant, ripe, pure and just plain thrilling wine. Nimble.

3 bottles(s) of JJ Morel 2018 Puligny Montrachet for $72.99 per bottle (SKU3533) I gave this a 9.7 on Delectable and its the highest rated JJ Morel wine for me.
27 bottles(s) of JJ Morel 2018 Bourgogne Blanc for $29.99 per bottle (SKU3688) Its not a particularly complex wine but it has more soul than a shoestore.
1 bottles(s) of Laurent Boussey 2019 Meursault Les Meurgers for $37.99 per bottle (SKU4721) This is across the road from the great Lieu dit, Meux Chaveaux. Great wine. Just a great rocking bottle of Meursault. This is only from 18 year old vines and has rollicking and grandiose depth.
2 bottles(s) of Julien Cruchandeau 2021 Bourgogne Aligote Champ de Chene for $19.99 per bottle (SKU4954) I have never tasted it. I can only assume this is delicious as all Aligote Julien makes is masterful. Its priced lower than the Bouzeron so I can only assume this is from near Julien and not from Bouzeron.
1 bottles(s) of Laurent Boussey 2020 Savigny Les Beaune Les Saucuors for $28.99 per bottle (SKU5055) Its a stupid value as this is rare (Laurent is the only one who makes it) and spectacular in 2020 as the wine has broken out. The wine has ridiculous energy on the palate. Like insane.
3 bottles(s) of JanotBos 2020 Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru Morgeot for $77.99 per bottle (SKU5074) This wine is incredible and super elite White Burgundy.
2 bottles(s) of JanotBos 2020 St. Aubin 1er Cru En Criot for $43.99 per bottle (SKU5075) This is a Fass 4-3-1 plan. Buy 4, slug one down young. 2020 is a brilliant vintage at JanotsBos to drink young but has the real deep structure to age. I had an 2008 of this that was mind blowing. This is from a south facing vineyard and my note says great stuff and indeed it is.

1 bottles(s) of Emmanuel Darnaud 2018 St. Joseph Blanc for $64.99 per bottle (SKU3680) All Marsanne grown on granitic soils, Darnauds full-bodied 2018 Saint Joseph Blanc is a big, rich wine. Its so ripe, so round, so mouthfilling and loaded with notes of peach custard that its hard to understand how it can also be vibrant and fresh-tasting, . . . 95 WA
8 bottles(s) of Jean-Francois Jacouton 2019 St. Joseph Blanc Souvenir dAndre for $28.99 per bottle (SKU4170) Slightly reductive yet certainly attractive notes of mineral-laced citrus, sappy flowers, herbs, and some honeysuckle emerge from the 2019 Saint Joseph Souvenirs DAndre Blanc, which shows the classic, fresher, vibrant and focused style of this estate nicely. This cuvée is equal parts Marsanne and Roussanne, vinified and aged in once-used barrels. – 90 Points Jeb Dunuck
2 bottles(s) of Emmanuel Darnaud 2020 St. Joseph Blanc for $54.99 per bottle (SKU4296) All Marsanne grown on granitic soils, Darnauds full-bodied 2018 Saint Joseph Blanc is a big, rich wine. Its so ripe, so round, so mouthfilling and loaded with notes of peach custard that its hard to understand how it can also be vibrant and fresh-tasting, with notes of brine and crushed stone on the lingering finish. As with the 2017, Im recommending that consumers drink the wine young for its opu
1 bottles(s) of Maison Alexandrins 2019 Hermitage Blanc for $77.99 per bottle (SKU4350) The rare Hermitage Blanc from the great Maison Alexandrins. Made by the Hermitage Blanc Wunderkind, Guillhaume Sorrel.
2 bottles(s) of Jean-Francois Jacouton 2018 Condrieu for $34.99 per bottle (SKU4750) The 2018 Condrieu is terrific, with a juicy, ripe, yet pure and mineral-driven style. White peach, white flowers, tangerine peel, and a kiss of crushed stone all emerge on the nose, and its medium-bodied, balanced, and elegant. Its going to keep for 4-5 years. – 92 Points, Jeb Dunnuck
2 bottles(s) of Domaine des Pierres Seches 2020 Saint Joseph Cuvee 1930 Blanc for $57.99 per bottle (SKU4932) This is the new flagship white of the estate. I have so little of this. This used to be a cuvee called Aubert and before that was called St. Epine. This is easily one of the greatest white wines made in the Rhone today.
3 bottles(s) of Emmanuel Darnaud 2021 St. Joseph Blanc for $49.99 per bottle (SKU5091) Ahhhh. White Rhone. The wine I drink alone the most as nobody I know really likes it. This is what happens when youre The Riesling Guy. White Rhone is essentially the Anti Riesling. So I get it but opposites attract. This is one of the best St. Joseph Blancs.
Germany
4 bottles(s) of Juwel 2020 Weissburgunder Trocken for $21.99 per bottle (SKU3725) Why do people drink Chardonnay at this price point? Under $21.
21 bottles(s) of Weingut Weltner 2020 Kuchenmeister Hoheleite GG Riesling for $57.99 per bottle (SKU3893) 2020 is little bit like 2016 or maybe like 2018 – 2016 is my favorite vintage at Weltner.
1 bottles(s) of Ziereisen 2018 Viviser Gutedel for $22.99 per bottle (SKU3983) The second level Gutedel from Zierieisen and it s full of minerals, acid and complexity. Super quaffable!
1 bottles(s) of Markus Molitor 2019 Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Auslese*** (Green Cap) for $107.99 per bottle (SKU4078) 99 Points, Wine Advocate, Stephan Reinhardt
3 bottles(s) of Martin Muellen 2019 Nostel Riesling Trocken*** (Krover Kirchlay) for $35.99 per bottle (SKU4148) Before you can take in all other dimensions of this unique dry riesling, the smell of gardenias almost bowls you over. However, then comes a wave of floral honey and oolong tea, followed by another wave of intensely mineral acidity at the super long and super silky finish. Such an uplifting wine! Drink or hold. – 97 Points, Stuart Pigott
2 bottles(s) of A. Christmann 2018 Idig Riesling GG for $74.99 per bottle (SKU4158) This is a remarkably mineral and taut style with dried citrus, quartz, ivory and brightly squeezed citrus. Edgy and compact on the palate with subtle, caressing phenolics and vibrant, bright acidity. Long and very citrusy on the finish. Drink now or hold. – 96 Points, Piggott
5 bottles(s) of Jurgen Von der Mark 2019 Grauburgunder Bedecken Deinen Himmel Zeuss for $34.99 per bottle (SKU4312) This could not be more different than the Weissburgunder. There is no discernible oak and it’s a much more cerebral wine that needs maybe 3-5 years of age. But it is stunning wine, make no mistake but more of a wine that needs to be celllared and aired out heavily.
1 bottles(s) of K.H. Schneider 2019 Konigsfels Riesling Trocken for $28.99 per bottle (SKU4345) “So ripe that its on the edge of exotic extravagance, but it just holds back and marries this with great freshness and energy, the finish super-clean, yet very smoky with a hint of licorice alongside the minerals and the grapefruit acidity. Drink or hold.” – 95 Points, Stuart Piggott
4 bottles(s) of Battenfeld Spanier 2020 Eisquell Riesling Trocken for $19.99 per bottle (SKU4354) The 2019 Riesling Eisquell is pure, piquant and precise on the well-concentrated and crunchy/stony nose. Intense and tight on the palate, this is a spectacular, complex and crunchy Riesling with a silky texture, fine tannins and a lingering note of lemon juice. – 90 Points, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate (2019)
21 bottles(s) of Kuhling-Gillot 2020 Hipping Grosses Gewachs for $55.99 per bottle (SKU4379) I love the enveloping stone-fruit and yellow-grapefruit aromas of this youthful GG, which are accompanied by a hint of smoky funk (reduction), resulting from the long sur-lie maturation. At once very juicy and every bit as elegant, this concentrated beauty is waving at you to join it. Such a long, silky finish that feels so airy. From organically grown grapes. – 95 Piggot
10 bottles(s) of Kuhling-Gillot 2020 Nackenheim Riesling for $28.99 per bottle (SKU4391) A very expressive village wine. Intense pink and yellow-grapefruit aromas, plus some bread dough and wild herbs. At once sleek and compact, this has a strident structure that makes this both strong and zesty through the bold finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold. – 93 Points, Stuart Pigott
12 bottles(s) of Thorle 2019 Saulheim Probstey Riesling Trocken for $34.99 per bottle (SKU4421) Oh man is this a great wine yet so different than the Hölle. This is a very subtle wine that reminds me of Grand Cru Chablis. Out of all 3 Grand Cru sites this can be approached the youngest.
11 bottles(s) of Markus Molitor 2018 Urziger Wurzgarten Spatlese Gold Capsule for $25.99 per bottle (SKU4445) The 2018 Riesling Ürziger Würzgarten Spätlese (Golden Capsule) is coolish, precise and flinty on the crunchy and terroir-driven nose. Piquant and fresh on the palate, this is a tight and structured, classy Würzgarten Spätlese with a piquant and still slightly astringent but tensioned finish that welcomes the sweetness and hides it quite well. Very digestible. – 94 Points, Stephan Reinhardt,
9 bottles(s) of Ziereisen 2019 Viviser Gutedel for $19.99 per bottle (SKU4450) I taste it usually every year at Ziereisen and never had room for it but since allocations are so strict in 2019 I added it to the mix. Its a fun, yet incisive wine from Jurassic chalk soils and is in the sweet spot alcohol for German wines, 11.5%.
7 bottles(s) of Battenfeld Spanier 2020 Hohen Sulzen 1er Cru for $28.99 per bottle (SKU4494) This is their 1er Cru wine and is made from young vine Frauenberg in 2020. German Riesling is a gift and and wines like this are why. Its one of those wines you pop and pour and youre just like this is perfect. That is this wine. Its so perfect.
2 bottles(s) of Martin Muellen 2019 Krover Letterlay Spatlese*** feinherb (3 star) for $28.99 per bottle (SKU4555) This is what I like to call a “Fass Freak show” in that it’s freakishly delicious but also the wine, by definition is a freak show.
10 bottles(s) of Markus Molitor 2020 Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese White Capsule for $29.99 per bottle (SKU4567) Neither the finest, nor the deepest could sound like a put down, but everything fits so beautifully in this high-structured, dry Mosel that’s been made for long aging. Delicate spice and ripe-mirabelle aromas evolve slowly. Only medium-bodied, but it has a very long, polished finish. Drink or hold. – 94 Points Stuart Pigott
3 bottles(s) of Markus Molitor 2020 Graacher Domprobst Riesling Auslese** (White Capsule) for $53.99 per bottle (SKU4571) Great peach and nectarine nose with a whiff of vanilla bean and a hint of basil. Excellent concentration for 12% alcohol, the racy acidity driving this over the palate at a very brisk clip. So much energy that the faint-hearted may need to stand back as it passes. Drink or hold. – 95 Points Stuart Pigott
8 bottles(s) of Max Getlinger Wein 2019 Gut & Edel for $29.99 per bottle (SKU4589) This is the best Gutedel I have had since Ziereisens 10-4 Jaspis which is $120. This is the only Gutedel Ive sold that is not Hanspeter Ziereisens. This one is worthy of that level of acclaim.
8 bottles(s) of Weingut Weltner 2020 Virgo Gaia Scheu Aber Wild for $35.99 per bottle (SKU4608) This is made in a natural style with 10 day skin contact and low sulfur used throughout. Its so rare I havent tasted it yet but it takes the best of Steinmetz and Weltner and merges into one profound bottle of Scheurebe. This is likely quite distinctive.
5 bottles(s) of Thorle 2020 Saulheim Probstey Riesling Trocken for $29.99 per bottle (SKU4638) Intense lemon-curd and reine-claude plum nose with just a hint of oak. In spite of the excellent concentration, this has a suave and creamy personality, the tannic base wrapped in the rich texture, so that you barely feel it until the deep, powerful finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold. – 94 Points, Stuart Piggot
3 bottles(s) of Juwel 2021 Weissburgunder Trocken for $19.99 per bottle (SKU4657) Lovely classic nose of pear, apple, spice and intense minerality. Palate is complex and juicy with so much minerality and juicy fruit. Deep and textured with great crunch and crackle of clearly defined fruit and mineral.
3 bottles(s) of Juwel 2021 Grauburgunder for $19.99 per bottle (SKU4658) Lovely green vegetables and vineyard peach. So many wet stones. Killer stuff. Rich yet tensile with extremely attractive minerality and a limestone feeling. Great length and juiciness. Again so well made.
2 bottles(s) of Thorle 2020 Holle Riesling Trocken for $37.99 per bottle (SKU4707) A very finely nuanced and delicate dry riesling, in spite of the orange-blossom, candied-orange and ripe white-peach character. Serious structure and quite some power, but these things are wonderfully underplayed. What a beautiful finish! From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.. – 96 Points, Stuart Piggot
1 bottles(s) of Thorle 2021 Saulheimer Kalkstein Riesling Trocken for $21.99 per bottle (SKU4708)
10 bottles(s) of Weingut Weltner 2021 Rodelsee Schwanleite Scheurebe Trocken Erste Lage for $25.99 per bottle (SKU4769)
2 bottles(s) of Weingut Weltner 2021 Kuchenmeister Hoheleite GG Riesling for $48.99 per bottle (SKU4773) This is in a NORMAL 750 ML bottle. This and the Sylvaner GG from Hoheleite are the two wines that inspired me to come up with the wall of flavor descriptor. The 2021 is just a sick wine. It has periodic table levels of minerality and the structure to age 10-15 years and likely longer.
1 bottles(s) of Weingut Weltner 2021 Kuchenmeister Hoheleite GG Sylvaner for $48.99 per bottle (SKU4774) You cant believe how good the Sylvaner Hoheleite is that it does this floaty thing on your palate for like maybe 2-3 seconds as your tasting it and thats like the batters knee buckling.
6 bottles(s) of Markus Molitor 2020 Bernkasteler Badstube Auslese* (Green Capsule) for $34.99 per bottle (SKU4782) The very striking, cool and minty nose makes it difficult to resist setting out on the much longer adventure through the magic kingdom of cool on the sleek and very refined palate. Ends with a no less striking, mint and mineral finish. – 95 Points Stuart Pigott
7 bottles(s) of Gunther Steinmetz 2021 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Kabinett for $21.99 per bottle (SKU4783) A breathtaking Mosel Kabinett with a stunning nose of yellow apple, pink grapefruit and super-energetic acidity. Sleek palate with an electric acidity that makes this taste seriously dry, although it is not. – 95 Points, Pigott
1 bottles(s) of Max Geitlinger Wein 2018 Maximal Blanc de Noir for $23.99 per bottle (SKU4806) The blanc de noir of any red wine we make contains the juice that is produced when the berries burst open during destemming. So it is not pressed, but is the actual free run juice of the berries. From each batch that we harvest, there is about 45 liters of juice, which is collected and aged in 500 liters of wooden barrels. It consists of over 90% pinot noir. After 12 months it is bottled without f
1 bottles(s) of Gunther Steinmetz 2020 Dhroner Hofberg GD for $30.99 per bottle (SKU4809) The very striking, cool and minty nose makes it difficult to resist setting out on the much longer adventure through the magic kingdom of cool on the sleek and very refined palate. Ends with a no less striking, mint and mineral finish. Drink or hold. – 95 Points Stuart Piggott
3 bottles(s) of Gunther Steinmetz 2019 Piesporter Goldtropfchen GP for $30.99 per bottle (SKU4810) Still pretty closed, this is very deep and subtle, its greatness slowly creeping up on you. A wide spectrum of stone and citrus fruit and berries on the palate are matched by serious structure and a long, very complex finish. A discreet expression of a site thats famed for baroque richness. Drinkable now, but better from 2022. – 95 Points, Stuart Piggott
3 bottles(s) of Martin Muellen 2020 Trarbacher Huhnerberg Kabinett Feinherb for $25.99 per bottle (SKU4841) Today I have my desert island feinherb. Its from the Trarbacher Hühnerberg, which I believe is one of the great vineyards of Germany. This is a wine I have not been able to sell since the 2016 vintage. Martin either hasnt made it or the Germans have bought it all within weeks of release.
19 bottles(s) of Gunther Steinmetz 2021 Neumagener Rosengärtchen von der Terrasen for $47.99 per bottle (SKU4866) Stunning nose of melon, totally ripe peach and fresh basil with a net-like layer of slate aromas lying over it. This giant wine gives you a very clear idea of how small each of us really is, not only through its staggering concentration, but even more through the exceptional finesse. Breathtakingly long finish. Very limited production. Drinkable now, but best from 2024. – 98 Points, Pigott
7 bottles(s) of Martin Muellen 2020 Krover Paradies Spatlese Trocken *** Luci Deare for $31.99 per bottle (SKU4890)
1 bottles(s) of Thorle 2021 Silvaner Probstey Trocken for $33.99 per bottle (SKU4924) Heres a remarkable dry silvaner that, with a couple more years of bottle maturation, could easily be mistaken for a fancy white Burgundy! Flinty nose, generous and texturally complex palate with plenty of smoky character and a touch of fresh nuts. Long, complete finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold. – 94 Points, Piggot
4 bottles(s) of Laible 2021 Durbacher Plauerlian Grauburgunder Trocken for $24.99 per bottle (SKU4947) This is one of those wines that one grabs when trying to prove how great a winery is. Its a less expensive wine, but in hands of Laible it becomes something so much more. That is the beauty of working with an estate like Laible. It carries everyone in its path. A tsunami of greatness.
8 bottles(s) of Laible 2021 Scheurebe Trocken for $24.99 per bottle (SKU4949) This is one of the more mineral and acid-driven Scheurebes Ive ever had. This will age 10 years easy. Truly exciting wine
2 bottles(s) of Weingut Weltner 2021 Chardonnay Rodelsee Trocken for $24.99 per bottle (SKU4950) How is a wine so nimble, so pure and has an acid spine seemingly made out of Adamantium so unreal? This wine is unreal. This is the most mineral of all the German Chardonnays we offer. It is like a mineral bomb in your mouth. Chardonnay on Keuper soils is very revelatory to me and hopefully to you. The wine is just unreal.
1 bottles(s) of Sven Klundt 2020 Riesling Kastanienbusch for $26.99 per bottle (SKU4964) The 2020 is the most classic since the legendary 2016. I really really love 2020 and tasted around 60-70 wines recently and the vintage is truly stunning. Dense and mineral with stunning textures and freshness. There is terrific, caressing acidity but also a wonderful mineral freshness that puts these wines on another level.
3 bottles(s) of Sven Klundt 2020 Weissburgunder Wacholderberg for $21.99 per bottle (SKU4965)
1 bottles(s) of Weingut Weltner 2021 Rodelsee Schwainlate Sylvaner Alte Reben for $25.99 per bottle (SKU4968) This is one of his signature wines, for as little as $25.99 on a 4- pack. It is what he is all about. Heck, one could say that this is what Sylvaner is all about and should aspire to. If you like white wine, do NOT miss this wine. It is completely outrageous and absolutely trounces every Sylvaner on the market at this price point and 20% higher!
9 bottles(s) of Kuhling-Gillot 2021 Qvinterra Riesling Trocken for $21.99 per bottle (SKU4977) One thing that people have to remember with 2021 is that a 91 point wine in 2021 is radically different than a 91 point wine from 2020 or 2019 as its in the style of 2021 which for me is the vintage of a century.
3 bottles(s) of Martin Muellen 2010 Krover Paradies Riesling Spatlese trocken * for $38.99 per bottle (SKU4979) Paradies for me is one of Martins most mineral sites and it has a haunting and absurdly beautiful texture once it gets appropriate age. It finally is getting there in this wine. This is a stunning wine and one of the best values ever.
42 bottles(s) of Nikolaihof 2016 Riesling Steiner Hund for $46.99 per bottle (SKU4984) With cacao and crushed stone as well as concentrated peach aromas, the 2016 Ried Steiner Hund Riesling is subtle, refined and complex on the finely spicy yet deep, complex and elegant nose. Bottled in April this year, this is a full-bodied, dense, juicy, well-concentrated and crystalline-mineral Riesling with lots of power and sustainable grip and concentration. Another long-distance runner yet mo
8 bottles(s) of Gunther Steinmetz 2021 Brauneberger Juffer Kabinett for $23.99 per bottle (SKU5011) I gave this a 9.8 on Delectable and Piggott gave it a 94 and thats a big divergence between us. It happens.
10 bottles(s) of Thorle 2021 Reserve Chardonnay for $28.99 per bottle (SKU5024) You could easily mistake this for a top Chablis from a cooler vintage thanks to the combination of complex chalky minerality, lemony acidity and tarragon freshness. Although it is underplayed, the power builds steadily at the long expressive finish. Very good aging potential. – 94 points, Stuart Piggot
22 bottles(s) of Van Volxem 2021 Gottesfuss GG for $47.99 per bottle (SKU5034) This is quite closed on the nose, but the ripeness and concentration on the palate are impressive. Real power for the challenging 2021 vintage. Very intense and polished finish that extends way out there. Excellent aging potential. Drinkable now, but best from 2024. 94 Points, Stuart Piggott
8 bottles(s) of Van Volxem 2021 Scharzhofberger GG for $53.99 per bottle (SKU5035) I love the ripe apricot aroma, generosity and immediately appealing harmony of this riesling GG. Its a really good introduction to the category, being not a jot too ripe nor tart. Silky smooth texture in spite of the ample fine tannins beneath the waterline. Everything fits together beautifully. Drink or hold. – 94 Points, Stuart Piggott
18 bottles(s) of Domaine Wachau 2021 Ried Bruck Riesling Federspeil for $20.99 per bottle (SKU5036) The 2021 Ried Bruck Spitz Riesling Federspiel opens with a deep, pure and intense, very elegant and complex nose with ripe Riesling aromas intermingled with enormously stony notes. On the palate, this is a spectacular, complex and refined Riesling with great intensity and terroir expression. The term Federspiel downsizes this Riesling a bit, although it is an elegant, medium to full-bodied wine th
5 bottles(s) of Max Geitlinger Wein 2020 Maximal Sauvignon Blanc for $38.99 per bottle (SKU5041) Its probably next to the Poisot Romanee St. Vivant, a few Brisset reds, the best Red Burgundy I sell. This is from 85+ year old vines. Yields for this wine were only 24 hl/ha versus an average of 37 for NSG Premier Crus. This wine is a love letter and a tour de force in winemaking. It is a work of remarkable genius.
4 bottles(s) of Max Geitlinger Wein 2020 Maximal Muller Innen for $26.99 per bottle (SKU5042) This wine was a revelation for me and has changed the way I think about Müller Thürgau. This is a wine of endless complexity and energy. It is life affirming and invigorating.
12 bottles(s) of Kuhling-Gillot 2021 Olberg Grosses Gewachs for $49.99 per bottle (SKU5047) Deep and mysterious, but also quite closed and smoky (from long sur-lie maturation), this has impressive concentration of grapefruit-zest and dried-tarragon character. Long, expressive finish with great drive. A little patience will reveal this excellent GGs treasures. – 95 Points, Stuart Piggott
16 bottles(s) of Ziereisen 2020 Lugle Weissburgunder for $22.99 per bottle (SKU5076)
13 bottles(s) of Ziereisen 2020 Viviser Gutedel for $19.99 per bottle (SKU5077) I taste it usually every year at Ziereisen and never had room for it but since allocations are so strict in 2020 I added it to the mix. Its a fun, yet incisive wine from Jurassic chalk soils and is in the sweet spot alcohol for German wines, 11.5%.
3 bottles(s) of Gut Hermannsberg 2017 Kupfergrube Reserve Riesling Grosses Gewachs for $64.99 per bottle (SKU5106)
22 bottles(s) of Wegeler 2020 Geheimrat J Spatlese Trocken for $33.99 per bottle (SKU5137) The 2020 opens with a clear, refined and elegant, deep, dense and lovely complex bouquet of bright fruits with notes of crushed stones and herbs (mint). Intense and seriously structured, this is a full-bodied, complex and sustainably saline dry Riesling with ripe, elegant fruit and remarkable finesse. The finish is very long, intense and persistently salty. A spectacular dry Rheingau classic or th
9 bottles(s) of Jakob Schneider 2021 Niederhauser Herrmannshöhle Riesling trocken Magnus for $32.99 per bottle (SKU5155) A masterpiece of elegance and finesse, this glides over the palate like a swan whos power is tucked away under its wings. Bone dry, but you could imagine that this has some unfermented grape sweetness thanks to the richness on the mid-palate. Super-elegant finish. Drink or hold. Screw cap. – 97 Points Stuart Pigott
Savoie
16 bottles(s) of Domaine des Rutissons 2020 M. Leblanc for $26.90 per bottle (SKU3998) A wonderful quirky white blend from Rutissons!
6 bottles(s) of Domaine Montessuit 2020 Ayze Gringet Vieilles Vignes Cuvée Jonquille for $26.99 per bottle (SKU4540) Vines are 70-115 years old with the average age being 93 years old. This is a stupid great wine and a stunning value. I can see this wine being $45 in a few years, a la the Berlioz cuvees.
5 bottles(s) of Gilles Berlioz 2020 Chignin Bergeron Les Christine for $96.99 per bottle (SKU4600) This is the best wine Ive tasted from Gilles. Easy. It is pricey for a Savoie wine (and through 3 tier it would cost $165+) but think of this not as a Savoie wine but one of the worlds great white wines, comparable to a great white Burgundy or a top Northern Rhone white.
7 bottles(s) of Domaine des Rutissons 2021 Verdesse IGP for $29.99 per bottle (SKU4704) Verdesse is a white grape that is an ancient specialty of the area. Only 13 hectares are planted and one of the parents of the grape is Savagnin. As of 2008 there were only 2 hectares planted so it is slowly increasing. It is considered one of the oldest white grape varieties in the world. I
Italy
5 bottles(s) of Calafe 2019 Greco di Tufo Ariavacchia for $31.99 per bottle (SKU4071) There is not another Greco di Tufo that comes close. Like 1er Cru Chassagne with and Italian twist.
9 bottles(s) of Lunarossa 2018 Quartara for $32.99 per bottle (SKU4125) This is 100% Fiano. Only 180 cases were made of a special selection of his best vines. Fermentation is in amphorae. The tops of the amphorae are closed so the wine is not an orange wine (even though the winemaker worked with Gravner).
14 bottles(s) of Cascina Sot 2020 Nascetta for $26.99 per bottle (SKU4365) Nose is loads of lavender and very floral like a Crabtree and Evelyn store. Palate has terrific fruit with lemon, lime, grapefruit and an intense rocky minerality that reminds me of Germany and just terrific depth. Great structure and very dry wine overall.
1 bottles(s) of Filippo Barni 2013 Cantagnal Apassiemento Erbaluce for $34.99 per bottle (SKU4610) This has the balance and depth of the best sweet wines I have ever had . What mouthfeel and texture. Insane inner mouth aromas and caramel that is to die for. It has the sphere and orb in a sweet wine. Amazing! This will last 25 more years! Amazing!
1 bottles(s) of Torre Morra 2021 Scalunera Etna Bianco for $23.99 per bottle (SKU4736) This is electric but also has a textural element that reminds me of feinherb. Mind you this is bone dry wine but the texture is so silky and just textured. I know thats a tautological error but yes the texture is textured. Texture is not nearly spoken about in white wines as much as it should be.
Loire
3 bottles(s) of Domaine des Roches Neuves 2020 Clos Romans for $77.99 per bottle (SKU4327) From Souzay-Champigny and cultivated on clay-limestone terroir with just a 30-centimeter layer of clayey sand before the Seonian limestone is present, the 2019 Saumur Blanc Clos Romans has a straw yellow color and a deep yet subtle and complex bouquet of white fruits intertwined with the flinty limestone aromas. Pure, fresh and juicy, with great finesse and mineral tension, this is a refined and h
2 bottles(s) of Domaine des Berioles 2020 Saint Pourcain Vin Dici et d Ailleurs Blanc for $26.99 per bottle (SKU4523) This is a blend Chardonnay and Tressalier aged months in inox vats for $27.99 on a 4-pack. There is no better under $30 non-Riesling we sell. Period. End. The precision and purity are off the charts.
USA
2 bottles(s) of Martin Woods 2019 Gruner Veltliner Havlin Vineyard Van Duzer Corridor for $31.99 per bottle (SKU4756) Nose has the lovely fat that gruner is known for and all types of veggies and herbals. Lemon. Loads of lemon. Love this nose. Oh this is so good. On the palate, mineral yet rich and vibrant with superb minerality and freshness. Textured, deep and so structured and balanced. Salty and sweet english peas on the finish
4 bottles(s) of Martin Woods 2019 Koosah Vineyard Chardonnay for $35.99 per bottle (SKU4904) If the Havlin was a Meursault/Puligny cross then this is a Puligny clone. This is actually 13.3% alcohol while Havlin is 12.8%.
Switzerland
3 bottles(s) of Weingut Riehen 2018 Le Grand Chardonnay for $85.99 per bottle (SKU4799) This is just a brilliant wine that is firing in all cylinders once you open it. Its really unlike any Chardonnay Ive ever had and has that brilliant …. Ziereisen-ness for lack of a better word. Just perfect balance, elegance.
Chablis
24 bottles(s) of Domaine dAir 2015 Chablis for $34.99 per bottle (SKU5385) Nose is so clean and fresh. Some minerals. Green apple. Delicious fruit and minerality on the paalte. Has the acidity to age for another decade. Very, very good basic Chablis.

Italy
26 bottles(s) of Giuseppe Negro 2019 Monsu Rose Langhe Rosato for $24.99 per bottle (SKU3604) Rose made from 100% Nebbiolo Barbaresco DOC grapes. The freshness of rose. The complexity of nebbiolo grown in elite terroir – a very special rose at a very fair price
6 bottles(s) of Vigneti Costacurta 2020 Colline Novarese Rose for $20.99 per bottle (SKU4416) This is perhaps the best Nebbiolo rose I’ve ever had. Just a stunning wine. And an even more stunning value.
Germany
6 bottles(s) of Max Getlinger Wein 2018 Rosie for $25.99 per bottle (SKU3919) Dry and vinous on the palate, this is an intense and even rich rosé with ripe and elegant acidity intertwined with finely grippy tannins and a refreshing red cherry taste on the finish. 91 Points, Stephan Reinhardt
